Live Review: Snow Patrol at Nottingham Arena, 1 Feb 2012
This was a mind blowing performance from the Indie rockstars Snow Patrol featuring some amazing new songs from their sixth studio album “Fallen Empires”. They gave a spectacular introduction to the night by using one of their latest tracks “Berlin” which really got the audience chomping at the bit. Throughout the concert they peformed at their total and extrordinary best.
During the show, Gary Lightbody, the lead singer of Snow Patrol accepted the request of two spectacular songs. One was for a man who risked his life during his time in the army, as well as suffering with mental issues afer the devastating experience in Afghanistan. Furthermore, Gary played a song called “Run” from their intriguing and popular third album “Final Straw” which received a positive, excitable response from the audience.
They also played a song which was requested and is also deeply heart warming and is one of Snow Patrol’s popular songs, “Set Fire to the Third Bar”. Unfortunately this was not played by the original singer Martha Wainwright this was originaly chosen and performed spectacularly by the female singer Marria Colletchman that helped snow patrol play their brilliant songs.
They were also supported by no other than Everything Everything. As they came on stage they gave a warm welcome to start the crowd off and an unusual apparel wearing grey overalls when performing to the audience. At the end of their concert there was a massive request for an encore so they came back to the stage where singer Gary Lightbody appeared to be holding a cup of tea – how Rock ‘n’ Roll! As soon as they prepared, they played three of their latest chart topping tracks which were “Just Say Yes”, “This Isn’t Everything You Are” and” Shut Your Eyes” this gave the audience a final finish to remember always.
In conclusion I thought it was one of the greatest concerts I’ve ever been to.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy listening to these Scottish/Irish indie-rock Gods
