Scorzayzee is an MC born and bred in Nottingham. He was connected to the Nottingham based Out Da Ville crew and worked alongside other MC’s such as C-mone, Lee Ramsay and Karizma. Last year, Karizma supported him at the a gig at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms and he absolutely smashed it, sounding even better live. One of the highlights was the first song I had ever heard from Scor-zay-zee, called ‘Casio sweep’. It’s a hilarious spoof of Wiley’s ‘Rolex’ and has the funniest lyrics, I just wish it would carry on for longer. In fact, I wanted the gig to go on forever! While he was on stage I didn’t leave the dance floor once, if not the lyrics, the beats to his songs are enough to keep me enticed throughout it all.

But when not at gigs, I listen to his songs when I’m chilling out. Two songs – ‘Spinning round’ and ‘That’s Entertainment’ can send me into a trance as I sit there listening. His songs make you forget about the world around you and just think about what he’s talking about. His clear views and strong opinions on how the world really is it just makes you think. Especially on the song ‘That’s Entertainment’, it basically puts so many of my own opinions and feelings into a song.

Relatively, Scorzayzee isn’t a well-known MC, but he should be. He has produced very controversial singles, such as ‘Great Britain’, one of the rawest songs I’ve heard to this day. He expresses his ideas about corruption in Great Britain and I strongly suggest you listen to this song on YouTube, along with other of his tunes.

Not fitting the stereotype of a rap artist, he has gotten a lot of criticism for his looks, but he has not given up. Some of those ignorant people out there will not be given the satisfaction of seeing him fail! He still out shines a lot of young artists around Nottingham in my opinion. Free styling, he’s got bars for days and would put almost anyone to shame!

Trying to express how real Scorzayzee is and how much talent he has is actually hard to do because sometimes I could just be left speechless after listening to him. He doesn’t try to show off or prove himself to anyone he is just himself and paints a picture of who he is through his lyrics. These are the types of artists that should be getting recognised for their talent! Definitley think you should all have a gander at some of his tracks and let me know what you think 🙂
